Youngsters shine at junior tournament

THE Esperance Tennis Club had a strong contingent of 22junior players atthis year’s CBH Country Tennis Championships held at Alexander Park in Perth.The tournament was over three days with theplayers competing against the best country juniors in WA.

The best individual performances were William Wildberger who reached the final of the 12 and under division in the main draw and went down to the number 1 seed Scott Tuia. Other notable performances in the singles were Max Chapman and Stella Wildberger who made it to the semi-finals in their respective U10’s event.

ETC teams also performed well with Toby Jones and Max Chapman taking out the teams event for the U10’s division A. Vincent Newman and Luke Greatrex finished runner-upin the U14’s division B and Lachlan Stewart and James Dwyer were runner-upin the U14’s division C.
