Remember folks as you put the finishing touches to your mean machines that on Race Day secret Lions Club appointed agents will be casting very experienced eyes around both machines and pit crews to determine who will be the prize winners in the Best traditional cart, Best dressed up cart, Best dressed competitor and best pit crew team. So save some of that energy you are directing to preparing for what will be a fun family day to dressing up both yourself and your cart.
Many thanks to all sponsors and the band of volunteers who make this day work.
There are not many rules on the day really – all carts must pass scruitneering between 7.30 and 9.15am at the RFS shed on Sunday 1 May, all carts must have a seat and brakes and meet the specifications, each cart can only be used once in each race category, all participants must wear a helmet, all drivers must enjoy themselves, all present must listen intently to the Mayor’s opening speech, all carts must try and break the Police radar limits, all spectators must cheer loudly, all Lions Club members must last the day.
Excitingly, Braidwood Lions are now working with the Harley Owners Group in Canberra to arrange a number of their team to come over on the day and set up a display of Harley’s! So come along and see these timeless beauties and chat to their owners. You never know we might be able to encourage a few Harley’s onto the track !
