A member of the club for 41years, Mrs McKenzie spent 33 of those years on the Day View Club committee, moving through it’sranks.
From publicity officer to assistant treasurer to treasurer to vice-president to president and finally to assistant secretary Mrs McKenzie was thanked for her years of service by the club.
Originally from Darlington Point Mrs McKenzie said she in the future she waseager to focus on simply relaxing during the clubs meetings.
“But I thinkit’s about time to enjoy the time I have with the ladies.
“The best thing about the club is thecompany and all the friends you make,we have some great times going to different clubs.”
“I joined after I lost my husband, some of my friends were members and it has been just lovely, really good company,” she said.
Tuesday’s Day View meeting was themed to commemorate Anzac Day with sprigs of rosemary lining the tables.
The ladies also enjoyed a fashion show run by Millers with models showcasing winter outfits for those present.
Many a purchase was made by the Day View ladies on the day.
