KEMPSEYAs the Mid North Coast starts to head into winter, the annual drop of weaner calves isstarting to hit the market, with our Annual Weaner Sale to be held next Friday, April 29.
Most of our producers have been blessed with a fantastic Spring and Summer and while things have really dried off in the up-river areas, weare expecting the bulk of our calves to present in excellent condition.
Lower Macleay producers have probably had one of the best seasons ever remembered, and the calves will carryplenty of weight.
With the bulk of NSW hoping for good rain, the cattle market has slipped a little from where it sat at the start of the year.
There is no doubt that numbers will be the big issue and demand will again increase if we see the rest of the state get good soaking falls of rain and fatteners get a good start for their fodders crops.
